The consultancy was “born” from Mindy’s personal experience through infertility and has blossomed through strategic alliances she cultivated from her deep-seeded background in venture capital. Mindy works with individuals taking into consideration clients’ emotional, physical and financial infertility issues. Mindy orchestrates nationwide teams of unbiased professionals to accomplish a treatment cycle. (LotusBlossomConsulting.com) » How I came to be doing what I do … I started my career as a venture capitalist writing business plans for start up companies. I wasn’t particularly well suited for this role as I hated not having interactions with people and/ or having the opportunity to use my people skills. About a year after my daughter was born I tried to grow my family and found myself in the world of infertility. I endured 31/2 years of fertility treatments. I was astonished to discover how difficult it was for me to navigate the territory, not know what questions to ask and/or where to seek resources for the best treatment and options to accomplish my goal. After my twins were born, my passion for the industry was obvious. I just pursued my passion to create and fill a niche that I knew was sorely lacking. I used my business background to build strategic alliances nationwide with egg donor and surrogate recruiting agencies, reproductive endocrinologists, attorneys, life coaches, insurance agents and financial and estate planners. I effectively pulled together all the necessary pieces that encompass a surrogacy arrangement to help my clients accomplish their pathways to parenthood. » What would you recommend for couples or individuals dealing with infertility? When I work with clients, my consults always involve three dimensions: the financial, physical and emotional aspects that play into exploring fertility treatment. One common element to all my clients is to help empower them with education, information and resources, which are all essential to making the best medical choices. » Something about me that surprises people … I think it’s my determination and commitment to a goal. I don’t take no for an answer and I am very good at finding alternate solutions, as I love “thinking outside the box.” » Things I love about Chicago … Aside from being home, Chicago to me is the most livable major city in the U.S. I love the access to theatre, dining, shopping, beautiful skyscrapers and an amazing skyline. » If I could carve out more time for myself, I’d … Spend more time traveling for pleasure with my family and my special friends. » What gets me out of bed everyday … I am so blessed to have found and created this unique niche. I am grateful to my clients who place trust in me every day to help steer the pathway through anonymous egg donor and complicated surrogacy arrangements. Leading the pathway to parenthood is truly a rewarding and privileged challenge.
